Winter Wardrobe

Good Morning,

Who would have thought that our winter wardrobe would be totally irrelevant this year. All those teddy coats, chunky knits and winter boots are in hibernation, waiting for better days to arrive. I’m certainly not complaining about not needing to wear 500 layers in order to leave the house without freezing but there is a certain cosiness associated with winter wears.

I took these photos back in September at Carlowrie Castle and it’s safe to say I was overdressed for the weather. We had a bit of an Indian summer with temperatures higher than normal. I didn’t at the time expect it would potentially be the only outing for my oversized borg coat this Autumn/Winter season. Nevertheless, it’s the kind of coat that can be worn year after year.

The light beige tone makes it easy to style with my ever growing neutral ‘capsule wardrobe’. The pleated skirt from Zara is one of my best buys and it’s definitely high on my list of most frequently worn pieces of all time. The silhouette is really flattering and it goes with everything. The hidden shorts underneath make it practical too. I can style it up and wear it all year round which is a sign of a great wardrobe staple.

My beige booties are another firm favourite and they are exceptionally versatile. The sharp pointed toe is elegant and helps elongate the legs. They are well worn as you can see from the scuffs and creasing but I’m not precious about keeping my boots in pristine condition. They are designed to be worn and that is what I do, well what I did before the world turned upside down.
