Good Morning,
Following extensive use of my neutral monogrammed richmond bag, I decided to pick up the new black quilted Kensington version. As you know, I’m a huge fan of the Kurt Geiger Kensington range and own an ever increasing number of their styles. Cross body bags are my favourite generally and the type I reach for day to day. They are extremely practical enabling you to be hands free whilst out and about which is always useful.
The neutral monogrammed bag has proved extremely versatile and I’m confident my new purchase will be the same. The neutral one is more of a ‘canvas’ material which is robust and durable. It’s not the kind to scratch or wear which is why I reach for it so frequently. The black one is a much softer leather which will inevitably be more delicate however my experience with all of my Kurt Geiger bags is that they are strong and long lasting. I’m not that careful or precious with my bags, I use and wear them well however they all pretty much look as good as new which demonstrates the quality and craftsmanship involved in the creation of these bags.
This size of bag is ideal for me. I love my Kensington mini bags but they are tight on space whereas with this one, I can fit my camera and extra lens as well as all my other day to day essentials. It’s the perfect option in between my mini and medium sized Kensington’s and means I’ve got choice without having to compromise.
The cross body strap is adjustable which is always handy as everyone’s proportions are different and it enables you to achieve a personalised fit. The bag is more structured than the canvas version which means it will hold it’s shape better. I love that it’s quilted on both sides, sometimes it’s only the front facing part that is detailed however this continues on the back too. The canvas version has a back pocket whereas the quilted version has a zipped compartment which I much prefer. I’ve been storing my bank card inside enabling me to quickly access at the checkout or petrol pump without having to touch everything else in my bag in the process.
The gold hardware is subtle but it adds a luxurious touch. The bag could also be used as a clutch with the strap folded inside for a more dressed up event or formal occasion. Unfortunately we don’t have any of those at the moment but hopefully it won’t be too much longer before we do.
xo!
