Good Morning,
Neutrals have become my go to and I’m naturally gravitating towards having a ‘Capsule Wardrobe’ filled with pieces which can be mixed and matched and worn in so many different ways. I’m veering away from bold patterns or prints which limit wearability and are incompatible with the rest of the items in my wardrobe.
These checked shorts are a great example of a piece which can easily be styled with existing pieces in my collection including this frill top from Mango and oversized knit cardigan from ASOS. The check pattern of the shorts adds some detail with the ecru and earthy tones of the top and cardigan blending perfectly with the colour palette. The tortoiseshell buttons are a unique shape and stand out against the softness of the overall outfit without overwhelming. Had the buttons been black or a solid brown, they might have been too much.
I’ve had the long chunky knit cardigan for a few years now and it’s such a great piece to throw on in the transitional periods between Winter and Spring and Summer and Autumn when the temperatures can be changeable. It offers the warmth of a coat from the thick ribbed material without hiding the rest of the outfit which can happen with structured / tailored coats. I love wearing off the shoulders for that effortless chic look.
I didn’t realise how much wear I would get out of these neutral boots when I bought them initially but they are easily one of my most worn pairs which is evident from the scratches, folds and visible wear and tear. They are just the right shade of beige to be able wear with both warm or cool tones which is ideal as neutrals can vary.
My little quilted bag with the bee fastening adds some femininity with the soft pink and gold hardware. It can be worn cross body, on the shoulder or held as a clutch which makes it incredibly versatile. It’s roomy without being too big but it’s also small enough to carry just what you need for a day out, event or occasion.
Do you like a neutral outfit or are you more adventurous with your styling choices?
xo!
