Another Blue Outfit

Another day, another blue outfit. I can’t deny I’m obsessed with blue, it’s always a strong feature in my wardrobe but especially so this Spring/Summer. It’s become one of the biggest trends this year however it has longevity which is why I’m buying into it as I’ll get the wear out of the pieces now and in the future.

The blazer is such a great addition to my collection, adding a pop of colour without overpowering. The almost tweed blend of blue and white brightens it up and makes it a perfect match for little white dresses, blouses or even a simple white tee. It’s easy to throw on and head out, giving coverage if it’s breezy and providing an elegant silhouette with the tailored but feminine fit.

A little white dress is a staple for me for Spring/Summer as mentioned in my ‘Curate a Capsule Wardrobe‘ post. I’ve lost count of how many different variations I have however I love and wear them all regularly and enjoy adding a couple of new ones each year to keep things fresh. This one is new in from Zara and it’s a really pretty and understated piece. The detail is minimal which makes it easy to style with more statement pieces or accessories. It’s the ideal dress for warm summer days (hopefully we get some soon) as it’s 100% cotton so really light and breathable. It can be dressed up or down depending on the occasion which is great as it means you can get more wear than if it was simply a day or evening only style.

The shoes are also new in from Zara and a great, colourful addition to my shoe collection. I always struggle with what to wear with white and often resort to neutral options however it’s nice to add some colour into the equation now and again. The strap can be tied in various ways around the front, side or back of the leg and you can choose whether to tie it low or high depending on what you’re wearing or personal preference that day. These are really comfortable and ideal if you are just getting back into wearing heels again. I normally prefer a higher heel height however having not really worn heels for any length of time for the past year, I’ve definitely got out of the habit and need to work my way back up and get my feet used to heels again. I shared a post last year about ‘learning to walk confidently in heels‘ if you need any guidance in this area.
