Cut Out Trend

Good Morning,

The cut out trend is big for Spring / Summer 2021. I touched on it in the post featuring the black jumpsuit from Zara as well as my SS21 trends reel and it’s one I’m getting onboard with. I find it really flattering and it’s not something that will go out of style quickly in the way a bold print or pattern would.

This little white dress is from Bershka and I loved it as soon as I seen it. White dresses are something I seem to collect however this one is slightly different from my others with the elasticated cut out detail at the waist. The shape is incredibly forgiving and shows the smallest part of the waist which is always flattering. If your body shape is more rectangle/athletic with a straight core, you might find this style of dress gives the illusion of an hourglass shape. It certainly draws the eyes in to the waist which is good if you want to deflect attention from elsewhere. The material is 100% cotton which is great as it’s a breathable fabric and washes well. It’s lined and not at all see through which is rare but welcome. It’s an ideal summer dress that can be worn for casual days and impromptu activities as well as dressed up for a more elegant look.

Blue and white are a perfect match and the soft pastel accessories keep the focus on the dress but add a bit more detail and a hint of colour. The bag is from Claudia Canova via ASOS and it’s such a great little number to have in my collection. Their bags are incredibly affordable, I think this one was £18 but it’s a super smooth and sleek faux leather. It comes with two straps, the short chain handle as well as a cross body strap. It’s a great bag for day to day use as well as for events or occasions and it’s one I’ll be using regularly this summer.
