The Summer sales are underway and I’ve picked up a few new pieces. I always try and stick to things I was prepared to pay full price for and this bag has been on my wishlist for a while so when it went in the sale at 50% off, I couldn’t resist.
The ‘Drench’ range of Kensington’s launched in Autumn/Winter 2020 and I was instantly drawn due to the monochromatic design with the bag, hardware and stitching all matching in the same tone. It’s a very minimal style which is probably why I was attracted to it straight away. I prefer to keep my accessories neutral as much as possible to enable maximum wearability and versatility. The black and red versions of the drench bags are stunning but it was this ‘gunmetal grey/khaki’ number that caught my attention. It’s different to anything I already own or anything I’d seen before which makes it a perfect addition to my ever expanding Kensington collection.
The slouchy and relaxed soft and supple leather is devine and it looks way more expensive than it is, even at full price. The colour makes it easy to style with both warm and cool tones as in certain lights it has the blue hue and in others it has a more khaki/mauve/brown look to it. The XXL size of the Kensington bags has definitely become my favourite as it fits everything you could ever possibly need to carry for the day or to travel. If I was going on a flight any time
I’d say this bag is more of a casual / day to day option although it can be styled up with more feminine pieces such as this broderie dress. It’s one of those bags you can grab and go and as someone who loves to be organised and ready for anything and everything, it’s the ideal option. I know I’ll get a lot more wear out of it as we ease out of lockdown and back to some level of normality but for now I’m enjoying using it for days out or events and occasions where I need to carry more than the essentials. It’s great for day trips as you can pack snacks and suncream as well as a picnic blanket without having to carry multiple bags.
Overall it’s the perfect addition to my collection and being able to snap it up while on sale was a bonus.
