Juicy

Juicy opened on Byers Road in Glasgow in May 2021 & I’ve been looking forward to trying it out. It’s primarily a healthy juice bar however it also offers clean food and refreshments for sit in or take away. I’ve been missing out on my acai bowl fix which I normally enjoy in Tulum however with travel not possible, I can now satisfy the craving much closer to home.

I ordered two of the acai bowls, chocolate and berry. You can add up to 5 toppings which include a range of fruit, nuts, seeds, as well as almond flakes, coconut or cacao nibs. The chocolate acai bowl was actually my favourite of the two which surprised me. As it’s made with real cacao rather than the sweetened and diluted down version, it’s not what you would expect a chocolate bowl to taste like. I’m a big fan of dark chocolate so don’t mind the slight bitterness but in any case it was counteracted by the natural sweetness of the fruit toppings.  The berry bowl was lovely too and I enjoyed the granola topping to give a contrast of texture.

I also picked up some of the raspberry juicy balls. I’m a constant grazer and they are the perfect size and snack while on the go without all the bad stuff. They are surprisingly filling and ideal with my mid-morning cup of tea.

It’s often difficult to find places that are exclusively focused on clean and healthy eating therefore it’s great to see a place like this open nearby. They are due to open a second branch in Silverburn soon which is great as it means you can fuel up on the good stuff while shopping.
