Louis Vuitton and Murakami come together once more in a spirit of boundless creativity. Born in Tokyo in the 1960s, Murakami is known for his unique fusion of traditional Japanese art, science fiction, anime, and cute kawaii characters. Consequently, his works often feature repetitive motifs that reflect the intersection of pop culture, history, and fine art.
This collection revives the vibrant works from the original collaboration that Marc Jacobs, then Artistic Director of Louis Vuitton, initiated. The main highlight is the reinterpretation of Louis Vuitton’s iconic Monogram pattern, now showcased in various women’s leather goods and accessories.
Technological advances enable each product to have more vivid and precise detailing of Murakami’s characters and motifs. Additionally, the collection maintains the high standards of craftsmanship that Louis Vuitton is known for.
The collection will feature immersive visual landscapes with window displays, pop-ups, pop-ins, and special advertising campaigns. Furthermore, exclusive pre-launch via the LV app starts on December 27, and the collection will be available globally from January 3, 2025.
